Three years ago, yesterday, was the first ever Elevenses webcast...
36 months on, after numerous COVID waves and troughs, three lockdowns, four jabs and two doses of the bug itself, ELEVENSES is still going out at 11am on Sundays and Wednesdays.
What has changed? Hopefully it's got slightly more professional - I have invested in a green screen rather than a couple of banners hung on an old projector screen, I’ve upgraded the PC link to ethernet, and I have learned to spell Elevenses correctly - see the screenshot, I can’t believe that slipped past me.
And it's going out live on FB, and also on YouTube where it's much easier to catch up with the shows if you're in a different timezone or simply missed an old show.
Right now, I'm putting this morning's show together, but I can tell you that amongst the items to be covered are the National Motorcycle Council's belated engagement with Hackney Council over the swingeing parking charges for powered two-wheelers, the challenge to the EU's cut-off date for ICE vehicles, pushback from tourists and bike hire companies regarding the proposed ban on tourists hiring motorcycles and scooters in Bali, Hawaii's move to allow bikes to run red lights at certain hours, a seven year warranty from Sinnis, whether adjustable wrenches are the right tool for bikers, and a quick report on my flying visit to Chris Hurren's MotoCAP testing lab in Geelong.
It’s going out at 11am. Don’t forget the clocks ‘spring forward’ an hour this morning!
If you've not previously caught the show, you'll find the playlist here:

On Friday, whilst continuing my series on Human Error as it relates to the kinds of mistakes we make on a motorcycle, I got to ‘at-risk' behaviour’ which unfortunately often gets conflated with deliberately risky riding and even law-braking. Read the article and get an insight into how even well-trained, experienced riders can fall into the trap of at-risk riding behaviour without realising it - it might just make you reset your own personal risk meter.
And just a reminder - if you miss any of my other posts during the week, you can sign up to my free WEEKLY DIGEST delivered to your inbox by signing up at:

The next ONLINE TALK SERIES event is on getting ‘mentally prepped’ to ride and will be in APRIL whilst the next SOBS talk moves to MAY. I’ve already had a few enquiries for training, and although I optimistically said Sat 18 March for first day for bookings, looking at the weather in the UK suggests that we might be waiting for the bad weather to clear out of the way. At least I get more time to get over jet lag.
I’ll also be looking for more bookings for talk events - either online or in person. I’ve fixed two dates, one for Kent’s RoSPA group back in my old stamping grounds near Maidstone. the other for a very unusual audience in central London. I’ll fill you in on that at a later date.
Make a brew, grab a biscuit and pull up a chair ready to tune in to the 'ELEVENSES' LIVE webcast. Join me, Kevin Williams, twice a week on Wednesday and Sunday at 11am for 30 minutes of topical news, controversial views and better biking tips!
